White Ohio Lesbian Woman Sues Over Sperm from Black Donor

In summary, Jennifer Cramblett, and her partner, Amanda Zinkon, ordered sperm from the Midwest Sperm Bank. They ordered Donor Number 380, a white man, and received and became pregnant with the sperm of Donor Number 330, a black man.

I don’t honestly know if I have an opinion on this situation, ie, the fact that the parents are suing the sperm bank for the error.

“Cramblett said she and Zinkon love their 2-year-old daughter, Payton, very much and wouldn’t change anything about her. But they are concerned about raising her in the predominantly white community where they live.”

I value the judicial system and it is truly imperative that we have legal codes and procedures as well as courts where citizens can go to air their grievances and obtain redress or defend themselves. But do all mistakes end themselves in a lawsuit? Obviously someone made a mistake and the substituted sperm was used to create this baby. But then again, once a life is created, isn’t that the life that is meant to be, and does a lawsuit provide any additional value at all? Or does it detract from the joy of the birth of the baby?
