She was nominated by Vasilios T. Goudas, MD of [Advanced Fertility Services, New York, NY](http://www.infertilityny.com/) and endorsed by all of the Forum Moderators The members-only SREI Forum has hundreds of members who are Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologists, Board Eligible or are Associate Members still in training.  In his invitation, Dr. Goudas wrote, “We hope that you will accept this invitation and add your expertise to the ever expanding questions posed by our society.” Victoria will field questions and concerns regarding [surrogacy in the United States](http://www.worldwidesurrogacy.org), the legal issues and procedures involved in gestational surrogacy and the role of surrogacy agencies as they interface with physicians and medical clinics. In gestational surrogacy matters, medical clinics and surrogacy attorneys must work closely together. The clinic will want to know that there is legal clearance - that a surrogacy agreement has been signed and that the parties have agreed on their terms and on the many details of their surrogacy arrangement. One important question for them is how many embryos will be transferred into the surrogate’s uterus. Oftentimes, it is two in order to maximize the chance of a pregnancy, but a trend in surrogacy of late is that there are many more single embryo transfers to avoid risks to the surrogate, the pregnancy and the health of the babies at birth. Another issue is the one of informed consent. Do all of the parties know and understand what medical procedures and tests they will be undergoing? Are the parties coordinated with regard to timing and medications? Such questions will be presented and discussed on the SREI Forum, together with many other questions and concerns from physicians regarding gestational surrogacy, a more and more popular and common approach to resolving issues of infertility. -
